Hi, My name is Anna. I recently found out that my 3 and a half year old son is severly allergic to peanuts. As I'm sure you all know, this has been extremely hard on both my husband and myself. We are expecting our second child and I have been taking the same pre-natal vitamins as I did with my son, prenate elite. I realized today that there is a warning on the bottle that says "do not take this product if you are allergic to peanuts or peanut products." I found this a little alarming. I may be over analyzing a little, but is it possible that this vitamin may have something to do with the incredible spike in children with peanut allergies? I was wondering if any mothers in this forum have also taken this vitamin. I know that for our children it is too late but if there is anyway to find a potential cause to help prevent future allergies, I feel it's worth asking and looking into. From everything I've read, this vitamin is very popular. I appreciate any and all feedback. Thank you!

that is very interesting! I took Target brand prenatals with my son, and there is no warning label for peanuts, although it does say contains Soy. He now has very severe PA.
I took them again with my daughter, but she is only 4 months, so we're praying she doesn't have any food allergies.

Hi Anna,
I saw your message about prenate elite having a peanut warning on the bottle. I have both taken prenate elite and prenate DHA (same company). I got them in packages and never saw a warning about peanut. I took them while pregnant and BF and I recently found out that my daughter (13 months) is sensitized for Peanut, milk and eggs. I never gave her any peanut so now I'm thinking about these vitamine pills. Have you called the company? Did you take the generic? I did stop taking these pills a month ago because I know they do contain soy and I didn't want to take that risk but I can't find anything about peanut(oil?) on my package. I know your message was written a while ago and I do hope you were able to find out a little more about it.
Thanks so much!

Try Nature Made, they do have prenatal. No additives, preservatives or colors. I have an immune disorder also and take 6 different nature made supplements daily on doctors orders. I have not had any problem. They are also gluten free and pass the vitamin dissovle test. Look for buy 1 get 1 free sales as they are a little more expensive.
