It was GREAT! DebO, Batman, Caterina2 and moxymom and I had a great time and the night just flew by. It was nice to have only a small number of people so we could all chat together without missing other conversations, but all the same - next time we want more people to make the trip! We all arrived at 7:30 and I brought out the collage. Everyone oohed and aahed over the pictures - especially MommaBear, since I guess folks expect her to be bigger, browner and with more fur (she is less bear and more lipstick and nice hair, lol!). [img]http://uumor.pair.com/nutalle2/peanutallergy/wink.gif[/img] Spudberry's twin boys looked so cute with their Superman pyjamas; we were envious of Helen and Geoff's Australian beach; everyone was thrilled to FINALLY see what Cindy Spowart Cook looks like! I pointed out that Becca is actually the little one in the family, not the mom who posts here; the only one who had Erik pegged looks-wise was DebO who works in IT - glasses every time, lol! It was so nice for all of us to meet the lovely JanaR, Codyman (cool Boxer!), Going Nut's cat Little Foot, Superwoman arachide, Nick sipping his merlot and Gwen Thornberry (now we need to see one with your glasses!).
We ate at an Italian buffet-style restaurant and we laughed so much when DebO pointed out that one of the dishes was Merlot-braised BBQ chicken! We all agreed it was absolutely delicious. Sorry to disappoint, smack, but I only had 2 drinks, lol - a Bloody Caesar and a glass of Valpollicella with my meal. Although DebO's Margarita was looking pretty darn good from where I was sitting... [img]http://uumor.pair.com/nutalle2/peanutallergy/wink.gif[/img]
I'm also going to post in the Off Topic Collage thread to let everyone know when to expect their collage via e-amil - only members who contributed pictures are receiving a copy for privacy reasons. We also took pictures of ourselves to send to collage members, so those will also be uploaded and sent soon. We had lots of laughs checking the digital pictures for closed eyes (right Caterina2??!!) and spinach in teeth before getting the approval to distribute the images. One way to get everyone to chuckle for the camera is to yell, PEANUTS SUCK! just before the flash goes off, I discovered!
Thanks so much Cathy, for organizing this. It was worth the trip to Toronto for sure. DebO and I were discussing a possible fun day in our nation's capital, Ottawa, for families - travelling to a children's museum, for example. I am IN - we have family in Ottawa we'd love to stay with, and perhaps some of the Montreal/Kingston people on the boards could meet us there. It's only 5 hours from me, lol! We can do it!

I like being young... if you feel young inside, you are young. Age is all in the mind. I would love to come to the next get-together. The timing didn't work out this time as one of my friends who moved away from Toronto to the USA a couple of years ago was back and Friday was the only night we could meet up and chat.
