Hi, Everybody.
Our son is on his first field trip without us today. He's in 4th grade, well-trained about his allergy, and the school has been "ingrained" over the past 5 years, so I'm fairly confident he'll be fine.
I'm still a little beside myself this morning, realizing this is "THE FIRST".
He's on that bus without me...
I can't explain it... it just feels... strange.
Thanks for listening.

Hi, I know the feeling....last year 2nd grade, I couldn't go on a field trip b/c I had to work.
The nurse went on the trip and I was a mess the whole day. But, all was fine...it will be fine for you too!
How are you feeling otherwise?
I've got two words for you....BIG HUGS!
Ok, so I have a few more words...these field trips can be scary for us parents..not to mention our kids! Keep yourself busy today and be happy you have educated your child and the school so well! HUGS!
Oh, I dread the day he goes it alone, I do! I'd probably follow the bus and sit outside the event...knowing me, I worry that much! But it sounds like he knows how to keep himself safe, so I bet he does just great!! I bet he has a blast and everything goes smoothly!!! HUGS to you, I know you need them!!!

I keep looking at the clock... wondering how it's going...
saknjmom,
Thanks for asking how I'm feeling. Better, now that the Dr.'s office called. Turns out the blood test does not show diverticulitis. YEAH!!! (I'm anemic, however, but I knew that already.) So, I'm trying to think of high fiber things I can munch on today.
He's home! He's home!! Yippee! He's home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GREAT!!!! Glad all went well and he is home safe!!!
Sorry to hear you are anemic. Good luck overcoming that. HUGS

chanda,

The anemia isn't new news to me. I think I've probably ALWAYS been. I just need to decide whether I'm going to do anything about it. My diet needs a complete overhaul, I'm afraid.

I'm glad all went well with your son's trip. I am dreading my first time. It's that first time.
I'm glad the trip went well and he had a good time. Hope you are doing better also!
