FAN literature

A big benefit to going to FAN conferences is having the opportunity to physically handle all the FAN pamphlet titles and browse through each one before making a purchase decision. The titles I bought at this year's conference were:

Tips for Traveling With Food Allergy

Traveling with Food Allergy: Foreign Sources of Information

Understanding Food Labels

Off to School with Food Allergies

Students with Food Allergies: What Do the Laws Say

Letting Go: Teaching a Child Responsibility

The School Food Allergy Program binder (quite expensive ($75 US) but very well done)

Also, FAN has some new children's books out which were well written. I bought " A Special Day at School" and "Alexander Goes Trick or Treating." Other new titles are "Alexander Goes to a Birthday Party" and "Alexander's Fun & Games Acitivity Book."

Thanks for the update on the new Alexander books. I use those in place of goodie bags as party favors. You end spending the same amount on all those little junkie toys that end up in the trash anyway.

What a nice idea! I also have adopted the practice of buying one expensive party favor to give away at my son's birthdays rather than buy all those trinkets which hardly last long enough to make it to the trash. I like the idea of giving away an Alexander book. Perhaps for next year.

BTW, my son was invited to another PA boy's birthday and had the darn misfortune to miss the party because of the flu. As for Mom, I was really looking forward to finally going to a birthday party and not having to be so darn paranoid. (sigh) Oh, well...there's always next year.
