Epipen holders?

Publish date:

I've been looking at purchasing an epipen holder for my daughter. I just don't like the way the black case that the pediatrician gave us looks. So what cases has everyone else bought and how do you like them? Thanks in advance!

katelynl829-I am SO 80's. I carry a fanny pack. LOL!

But now we have a dog so it's not so uncool b/c lots of dog owners wear one for dog treats etc.

We never felt the need to purchase an epi pen holder specifically, though there are a lot of great ones out there.

Our site http://www.bestallergysites.com/ has a lot of companies listed that make them-of course not all companies are currently listed so you'll find a ton of others by doing a google search.

Depending on what you are looking for-there are purse versions in designer fabrics that are really cute and then just very plain and simple ones that come in a variety of colors.

Let us know what you decide! Ruth

I just opened a store last week selling carriers. Purses and pouches that can either be worn over the shoulder or messenger style (that's what my DD does), fanny packs and bags to toss into your purse. They're insulated and unique. I'm working on denim bags right now and if there is something else you think you'd prefer, email me and I'll be happy to accomodate you. I only have room for 20 products on my site and I have plenty of other fabrics I can use that are not shown.

Also, I will be offering iron on labels (like the tagless shirts have) very soon (they're on their way here as we speak). The one for the back says, "Attention: This bag contains lifesaving medication. If found, please call:" and has room below the message for phone numbers. The other one I'll be offering is for the inside and simply reads, "This bag belongs to:" and again, has room for a name and number. I didn't want to have to have people put their names or their kids' names on the outside of the bag for safety's sake.

Come and see what I've got to offer! :-)

That is a really good idea. I can't believe I hadn't thought of that; I once got in trouble for having my MP3 player out in class and so I sewed a pocket in the sleeve of my hoodie with the wire of the headphones running up the sleeve. Never got in trouble again. Haha. Great idea, and thanks for sharing. Definately something I will try!

Check out epipocket.com

When my son didn't want to carry his Epipen any longer I designed a pattern for a pocket that we sew into the lower inseam of his jean (by the cuff). He has been carrying his Epipen like this for the last 10 years. It is always with him and he is not embarrassed to have it with him. It has never been in the way of his activities and is completely inconspicuous.

I am often with my wife who carries one of my epipens in her purse or bag. But, I have to admit to that I am a little embaressed to be seen carrying around and epipen and am looking for something that would be a little incunspicious and not drawing a lot of attention.

One that I would NOT recommend is from OmaxCare. I spent almost $40.00 with shipping for a "WaistBuddy" twin epipen carrier. It is not a bad product except that, since the new epipens are wider at the top, it won't fit two of them-they fall out of the carrier. This wouldn't be so bad if I could return it for a different one but no one at OmaxCare will return my emails. There is no phone number to call them at either. Lesson learned-deal with an online company with an address and phone number!

Try this!

I have a severe nut and peanut allergy, and I carry a purse complete with my epi-pens, inhaler and all my other medicines. Would highly recommend it!

@katelynl829 I had the same problem with my case. I didn't like it cause it was too plain. I decorated mine with duct tape and put a peanut allergy dog tag for a zipper pull. Maybe you can cut out hearts or something to make the case a little more fun for your daughter :) i decorated mine that says "I <3 One Direction" on the front and the back it has 5 hearts with each of the boys names on them.
