I left my spare epipen in the car over night. I live in New England and it did get cold. Does anyone know the specifics as to how cold and for how long before the epipen is no longer valuable?
Thanks

The instructions say to store it between 59-86 degrees F (15-30 C).
If the temperatures in your area were at or below the freezing mark, I would assume your EpiPen has been damaged and needs to be replaced, especially since it was out overnight. I live in Canada, and we've had to replace about 3 or 4 Pens over the years, after forgetting them in our vehicle. It gets expensive, but better safe than sorry.

We have also had to replace Epi's that have been left out in the cold. As I understand it, heat can damage the medicine itself & cold can damage the spring that helps deliver it. (Does anyone else know for sure that is true?)
While I would never *rely* on an Epi that has gotten hot or cold, we have used the ones we left out overnight (in the dead of winter when it was *very* cold) as test ones in an orange & they have all activated just fine.

Our epipens were left in the car overnite last week. It went down to -7.
My pharmacy said to replace them. They looked fine, but I didn't want to take the chance.

THANKS FOR REPLYING. I HAVE LEFT THEM IN THE CAR BEFORE AND HAVE REPLACED THEM. I FIGURED THIS TIME I WOULD CHECK TO SEE IF IT WAS NECESSARY. I WISH THERE WAS SOMETHING TO PUT THEM IN THAT WOULD KEEP THEM WARM IN THE WINTER AND COOL IN THE SUMMER. THANKS AGAIN
