Looking for others that have eosinophilic esophagitis and are allergic to peanuts. My son was recently diagonosed with EE and so far his Rast testing has shown a Class 5 to peanuts.

Hi Julie,
I had never heard of Eosinophilic esophagitis, so I surfed the web to find out what you are dealing with. I found the following info on it...something you probably already know, but may be helpful...even for someone like me who had not heard of this...

I hope you hear from someone who also has this condition and can give you some insight.
Stay safe!

Hi Julie,
Is eosinophilic esophagitis the same as erosive esophagitis? I had never heard of it and then shortly after reading your message I happen to be reading my shareholders annual report from American Home Products (a phamaceutical company) and one of the new drugs they are introducing is for erosive esophagitis. Its called Protonix and is made by Wyeth-Ayerst (a company AHP owns). Its in the process of being approved by the FDA and will be on the market soon. I don't know if you already have a successful treatment for the disorder and if this would be of any help.

I just came upon this board about eosinohilla. My son alex has it and it is terriable. He is on a suplement called neocate and if that does not work they mentioned something about a feeding tbe. He has had this off and on since 18 months, but now it is so bad they do not even have to do a colonoscopy to find the eosinophil because so many showed up in his stools. If anyone still wants to talk about it my email is D_M_A_L@prodigy.net

There is a lot of info on Pub Med about this topic. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed/
You can get a complete journal article by having your "local" medical school library copy it for you or by ordering through loansome doc.
My query was as follows:
eosinophilic eosophagitis allergies
Best of luck to all-
