We might be going away to New Hampshire a few times this summer. How do I find out the emergency procedures of the town in which we will be staying, the nearest hospital, whether or not it can handle anaphylactic shock, if another hospital would be better equipped, etc. I want to have an emergency plan in place, but I don't know where to start.

pI live in New Hampshire. What area will you be staying in? Maybe I can give you some info. on hospitals etc. And AAA can answer some of your emergency questions. Also 911 works everywhere. Maybe you could borrow or buy a cell phone?/p

pThat's a beautiful part of the state, but sorry, I live at least 2 hours from there and don't know the area at all. Try AAA, if you have it./p

pHi Heather!/p
pI would've e mailed this info to you but you don't have one registered here./p
pAnyway, I have vacationed in Center Ossipee for years as a child. It is a spectacular place. I plan on taking my 2 year old up there camping this summer./p
pAnyway, I found a web site that might help you. It is for the Ossipee Police Dept. It includes the phone numbers for, but not limited to: Huggins Hospital and Memorial Hospital.br /
The address is: www.landmarknet.net/opd/main.htmbr /
Choose "phone numbers" from the pull down menu. /p
pIf you need any more info, you can e mail me at Ozzy781@hotmail.com./p

pThanks so much for all of your great suggestions. I just called AAA and they're going to send some information that will tell me what the closest hospital is and how to get there. I also checked out that website and the hospitals listed. Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro is about 20 minutes away from Osippee. I hope to find one a little closer that that. Memorial Hospital in North Conway is right down the street from where we will be staying. I feel much better, though, just having a plan in place so no time is wasted in an emergency./p
