I was thinking of Emerald Isle for vacation this summer with my 3 year old PA son. Any advise or suggestions? And would any one who has been there recommend or not recommend and resterants.

I went to Emerald Isle with my husband, PA son and non-PA daughter two years ago and had a wonderful time. However, I don't remember there being many "kid friendly" choices for restaurants, and I just didn't have the energy to check them out for allergy awareness. We rented a beach house and cooked all our meals. It was cheaper and a lot less stressful for me.
Edited to add: My son also has a fish allergy, so that pretty much eliminated the seafood restaurants, some of which are probably peanut-safe and good places to take kids.
Sorry I don't have more info!

We went to Emerald Isle a few years ago and really enjoyed the beaches and the area. We have visited the beaches of NC for 3 years.
What I will tell you is that they use peanut oil a lot in NC. Are you going to rent a house? We have rented beach houses and spent most of our meals cooking inside. The only thing that I can tell you is to call in advance before you go. We did eat out a few times, but we did find that we had to call around before we found one that did not cook in peanut oil.
