Does anyone know a egg-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and nut free gingerbread frosting recipe? I need one that will harden, not just hold the pieces together. Thanks.

I have been looking for an icing recipe too. I found this one recently but I have not tried it yet. It is from the UK. I am assuming that icing sugar is powdered sugar. I found glycerine at Michael's craft store in the baking isle.

It won't give you the "snowy" look, but it will hold the house together.
4 1/2 cups sugar, 1 cup water, and 1/3 cup light corn syrup
boil until hardball stage - (until golden brown and when you drop a little in cold water it goes hard.
This will hold your house togther (Be careful with little fingers - this is grownup activity). Then you can decorate the "snowy" parts with just icing sugar & water. Be careful to avoid the sugared corners or your snow will turn brownish, yellow. . .
