There are lots of safe places. Most restaurants in Little Italy (really close to the Inner Harbor) are safe. In fact, the City Brewery at the Inner Harbor was safe for us two years ago. FAAN may provide a list of safe area restaurants. There is a Subway and McDonalds close to the Aquarium. Do not eat at the Aquarium - all food is fried in peanut oil. Unsure if ESPN and/or HArd Rock Cafe is safe. Both are at the Inner HArbor.
We ate at the ESPN zone this weekend and had a very good experience. Someone came to the entrance area to talk to me to help us decide if we felt comfortable eating there. The guy told us that they have a pesto sauce that is used on a couple of dishes (clearly stated on the menu) and one or two of their desserts uses walnuts. (no big deal for us since we just don't get the desserts!) No peanuts, however. They use 100%soybean oil in the frier.
In addition, since we are avoiding sesame seeds and seafood (just in case) with our 2 year old, we asked about this too. None of the seafood is prepared in the frier therefore we felt that the french fries were safe. They do use sesame seeds on the burgers so we just didn't get those.
My six year old had mac and cheese and my younger guy had the hot dog and fries.
I got a chicken/avocado wrap with salad (very fresh and tasty). My husband got a cheese steak (also good).
Everyone was happy and there were no reactions. My kids really enjoyed the games upstairs and the skateboard/snowboard activity placemats!
I would certainly recommend this place.
