Does anyone out there know if the mixes that come with the Easy Bake Ovens are pa free? There is no warning on the box or packages, however, I am wondering about cross-contamination. My daughter received this for Xmas and my pa son (naturally) wants to bake with her.

I don't know about the Easy Bake oven mixes...but I can tell you that when I was a little girl, once we ran out of the mixes that came with the Easy Bake Oven, we used regular store brands and they work just fine. I know that I feel comfortable with Betty Crocker mixes (I am in the U.S.) so maybe you could use those instead. Good luck! I LOVED my Easy Bake oven!!!!

That sounds like a great idea. How do you know how long to bake the Betty Crocker mix for? As I'm sure is obvious, I'm not the greatest baker in the world. Hee. Hee. Somewhere out there in internet land is a collection of easy bake oven recipes from scratch (2 Tbs. flour, 1/4 TBs. oil, etc.). For the egg you have to stir up the egg and just use part or use eggless recipe.

I can't find the link, but it was in one of the big recipe sites under "kids" or "family" and I actually got to it very indirectly from one of the parent sites about a year ago. I am having no luck searching tonight for it. If someone else knows where this or other easy bake oven recipes are, can you pls. post?

Bake times are similar to the mixes that come with the oven.

Thanks so much! That website is great! That will give me much more peace of mind when my son is playing with it too.
