I am traveling in less than 24 hours and realized I just might need a dr note for my epi pens. Did anyone need a note??

I had one from our allergist when we went to Disney in May. We were never asked about it during any of our security checks. Both my husband and I carried Epi-Pen Jrs. for our daughter and not one security officer inquired about them. We flew out of National Airport in DC, which has pretty tight security. We also had no problems during any of our bag checks at Disney.

I would get one just in case. We have traveled twice and needed one the first time but was never asked about it the second time. You never know what their security level may be the day you decide to fly. Something might trigger them to check more thoroughly.

With the added security measures being put in place at the airports, we were told to make sure we had a note specifying that my PA son needed the epipens with him at all times, and why.
My son's allergist gets asked all the time for one, so he already had a bunch of templates printed off - he just needed my son's name and his signature.
Take care,
Rita

We've never had one and we've never been asked.

You are probably gone by now, but we have always had one, but never had to use it. I copied the letter from the faan site and had it faxed over to my ped. Her office nurse just stamped it with the office stamp and faxed it back to me. We keep it with his epi pens in his bag when we travel.
