My son reacted exactly the same way to a tiny (almost a trace) of hummus. Basically, I gave him a carrot that had touched the hummus in my plate. Instant throwing up. The doctor declared him allergic to chickpeas.
That was the end of that.

My PN/TN allergic son also tested positive for chick peas and the allergist told us to make sure we avoided hummus!

I make my own leaving out the tahini for fear of cross-contamination:
1 can garbanzos (chick peas), save liquid
squirt of lemon juice
clove of garlic
a bit of cilantro - dry or fresh (use less if fresh)
red pepper to taste
black pepper to taste
add garbanzo liquid as needed
Mix it all in a food processor or blender. Takes no time at all, & my family loves it.

My PA son eats Athenos hummus all the time and does not react. He is not sesame allergic however and I know for a fact that it DOES contain sesame seed. I hope that you have your little girl tested for sesame.

chick peas are very close to peanuts in the legume family...many of same proteins.
I am allergic to green peas and peanuts...again very close in legume family.
Please no "peas" at all!
