Did anyone watch The View (9/14)?

I'm not one who usually watches The View but it was on the tv today while I was doing stuff with the kids.

They had someone on who had hints about making life easier with kids. She was doing a lunch segment and mentioned something about not sending peanut butter in if someone in the school has a pb allergy. I was so proud that it was mentioned....

Then Rosie O'Donnell went on to say something I viewed as nasty about how it's out of control and if you send one peanut in then the school goes into lockdown mode.

I was so furious I walked away at that moment. Now I'm wondering if I just misread the situation because I'm overly sensitive. They are supposed to post a recap tonight (after 4pm).

I guess I'm just wondering if anyone else watched or will be watching (I know it plays later in some areas). Did you get the same impression I did? I will spend the day composing an email to The View ladies and let them know how I feel. I know we want to see national attention, but we want it in a positive light!

Obviously I saw it too, as my post in off topic.
I know most people don't like Rosie, but usually I like her. I don't usually watch the view either, but I was sitting here, just listening to the show not really watching it, and I couldn't believe me ears.
Well I showed the letter in my post of what I wrote to Rosie. Maybe one of us can get on the show and explain why it is so important to be protective of our children.

I too felt it might be helpful to write to Rosie ,I feel like my daughter is living on borrowed time , she has to wear an epi pen at school, for someone to make light of this topic is so discouraging, she's a mother she should put herself in the shoes of others.
Everyone deserves to be safe at school.

i for one LOVE rosie. i did not see the show in question here but i would certainly have been surprised. she is someone is consider to be a) a totally wonderful, child-oriented person who adores all children and b) someone who is opposed to discrimination and situations that are unfair; especially considering all that she's been through.
i think it would be good to let her understand the flip side of PA (our side) and then see if she feels differently. i'm guessing she would. i could be wrong, but i doubt it.
i like the view. i think it's even more fun now that she's on it. i'm hoping people won't give her a hard time. (she's gonna have to improve her stance on food allergies though. haha)!

i was just thinking...maybe it was just humor....even here at my house with as much thought and seriousness as we place on PA, we would say something like "let's go into lockdown mode, we've seen a peanut!" we would find that hysterically funny. maybe she meant it purely as comedy???? probably not, but i would give her the benefit of the doubt. even if she did mean that schools took PA too seriously, maybe we can win her over to our side. I LOVE Rosie too and have been thrilled that she is back on television. She makes me happy. Literally!
But that comment was so narrow-minded. Particularly considering her political stance.
She needs an education and I hope the members of this board flood her email!

Her comment which was " this whole peanut thing is out of control , they see one penaut and they shut the whole school down," this was in response to a guest saying " be careful some schools ban peanuts fromschools"
It was very uncalled for and not what any of us need to have said in the media.

I was just coming here to post about it... I already wrote a letter to Rosie and also to Barbara Walters. I was livid at Rosie's comments!

It wasn't Elizabeth that made the "don't send peanuts" comment, it was their guest.
But as a young parent, Elizabeth needs to know these things, too!
I am so disappointed about this. Rosie's voice is so widely-heard. I would have expected b.s. like this from Joy, but not Rosie.
I know they are just television personalities, but this really bothers me.
