Hi,

I've been reading posts for six years. My connection to peanut allergy is tenuous. I had a friend years ago who had it and I became interested in it as a public policy issue. I find the site very enlightening and I have also enjoyed some of the stories in Off Topic.

I am shy about the internet in general and since I don't have a direct personal stake in peanut allergy I never posted here. Now, I am so moved by Peg's story about Toby I wanted to share my thoguhts with her. So ... I registered.

Eliabeth, Welcome to the boards! I'm glad to see you're here to learn more about peanut allergy. So much of our battle with this allergy is educating ourselves and the rest of the world!
I hope Peggy sees your post.
cheers,
Adele

Welcome to the board! I wanted to say Hi as I am in Dayton as well.
My daughter is 3 and allergic to milk, peanuts and sesame.
Have you heard of FEAST? It is a food allergy support group that meets at Children's Medical Center.

I will certainly be checking out that group. I am glad to know there is one out there, they didn't seem to know of one at our allergist's office.
We are actually in Kettering. I would be very interested to hear if you've looked into preschool or done any day care in this area. That is likely on the horizon for us and I'm not sure where to begin. I think you can get to my e-mail address from here, feel free to send a message anytime. Just put Peanut or allergy in the subject so I know it isn't junk! Thanks for the reply.

It should be there now, if not, it's:
kelseyjane@hotmail.com If you put "Peanut allergy" in the subject line, then I'll know it isn't junk!
