I was a frequent visitor to this site back when my son was diagnosed and in the days of the steep learning curve, but I never posted. I am still learning and there are always new issues as he moves through different stages, but I thought that I am now at a place that I might be of some help to those just starting on this journey.
Brief history: My son is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts, eggs, peas, green beans, and most legumes. He also has seasonal allergies and asthma. I still think about/worry about his allergies daily, but it certainly doesn't consume my life or cause extremely high anxiety like it used to. We have learned how to navigate preschool, kindergarten, first grade and numerous activities. My son has had four reactions and several ambiguous ones.
I have three year old that has avoided peanuts/nuts and we are having her tested soon. So far, she has not had any allergies.
We are considering starting to travel more and to eat in restaurants, so I am hoping to find some useful info on those topics.

Glad you posted. There is some helpful info here, in different threads, about eating out and travel. One really helpful development over the last few years are those allergy menus, which are becoming more popular. Take a look at those restaurant/travel threads and if you have a question about a certain destination, throw the question out here and let's see if anyone else here has been there and can share their experience.

glad you posted. My son is in 3rd grade. he is allergic to peanuts. ( out grew milk and egg white). he also has seasonal allergies and animal allergies and asthma.
We do eat out quite a bit.. although we tend to eat at the same places we are comfortable with. We also travel. we have been on cruises and to Disney, Washington DC, CA and Canada. So far with a little flexability and planning we have had no issues...
