well....there goes one more thing my girls could eat that they loved. the hershey chocolate pies that we use to be able to get there now have a "may contain" warning of some sort on them.
my girls were halfway through their pies when one of them said, "wow...these taste different today...." which startled me. i immediately took the pie from her and read the label which now clearly states that the pies are made on shared equipment with peanut products (or something to that effect).
i don't think the pie actually tasted different than normal (though i guess it might have) but her comment prompted me to check the label fast.
just another reminder that you can never just "assume" things will remain the same.
so there went one of the few dessert indulgences my girls have always enjoyed. i'm not too happy with burger king about it (but at least they label...guess i have to at least be thankful for that). now we're down to just wendy's frosties and one or two other "safe" treats away from home.
darn.

Maybe it's always been this way, but last night dh was going to get the strawberry cheesecake and it also had a may contain label on it.

i think it's something new. if my memory serves me correctly, my kids have had several of their desserts in the past, which i wouldn't have allowed if there had been any kind of peanut warning on them. maybe it's a cya kind of thing but we won't be eating them anymore either way. i just hate it for the kids because they are pretty limited with the things they can eat out already.
