DARE creme cookies in US- do you use?

I acutally found the cream filled DARE cookies today at a WEISS grocery store near us. When I look at DARE's website it states in the FAQ- under an allergy question:

"Dare has worked with suppliers on several of our peanut-free products, including Breton Minis, to ensure they are peanut-free in production of our ingredients. A logo on the front panel is our assurance of this measure. Again, please check the package for this logo."

It sounds like that even though they are made in a peanut free plant- they have only checked with the suppliers of their ingredients on a few of their products (like the breton minis)?- sorry I'm a little confused here!

Do you buy/use the creme cookies- the box I saw had the notice peanut free plant on the back- but not the logo on the front they mention- when the ingredients are checked?

Thanks for any help- my daughter was only diagnosed in Aug 2006- and I'm still so scared of store bought cookies- but would love to try some!

My PA daughter has had the chocolate creme, lemon creme, coconut creme, oatmeal, chocolate chip, and gingersnaps. The chocolate creme are pretty good.

We eat the lemon creme and chocolate creme regularly- I called Dare and they even have their suppliers of ingredients (ie: cocoa) verify and sign a nut-free status clause. I think they are probably one of the safest cookies (processed) out there- plus they are delicious (although 100 cal./ cookie!)- my 4 yo loves them

Man, if I could find them this far south, you bet I'd use! As it is, I have friends smuggle them in for me. Sweetest contraband I can imagine.

My son has tried almost every kind of DARE cookie. We went to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls and stopped at a grocery store there. There was at least half an aisle filled with a huge variety of DARE cookies. We had a great time piling the cookies into the shopping cart and then filling the trunk. The customs folks must have thought we were crazy!

Yup. One of the three kinds of commercial cookies DD has ever tried. (Though she can't try some of the other varieties b/c of EA.)
And ditto about the caloric count... which DD gets away with easily. Too bad mom and dad don't!

I eat Dare cookies too. They are manufactured in a nut-free/peanut-free facility.
(always read labels as a few varieties such as Rainforest Harvest cookies are manufactured by an outside company and do contain nuts)

I buy Dare cookies in the USA. Love the raspberry Whippits! Frankly...I like all the Dare cookies I've found. Unfortunately, I can't always find more than the Whippits (plain and raspberry), chocolate cream or lemon cream. Once a year, Weis stocks more...sounds like a time to go shopping at Weis.

Oh my goodness. I was just in Baltimore. You mean I could have bought Dare cookies in Maryland?? Wow. I didn't realize they were sold that far south in the US. Now I'm feeling incredibly guilty. I have to rely on a Canadian friend to bring them to DS. They are such a luxury. So folks who live where you can buy them off the shelf--appreciate your experience!

We eat Dare cookies regularly. I buy them at either Andersons or Giant Eagle here in Central Ohio. We are particularly fond of the lemon flavor!
