I am looking for a good recipe fpr croissants or a safe one to buy. Can anyone help out?

I know you have been looking for this recipe/recommendation for a while, and I kept hoping someone would post an easy answer, LOL.
However, if you want my recipe (that I've never tried) for croissants, just let me know. Be forewarned though that's it very labour intensive - you'd be much better off finding a safe alternative to buy.
I don't mind posting though, it if you want to spend an afternoon making croissants (which is why I've never made them!). Let me know.

I have found an easy recipe for them!
2 pkg dry yeast
3/4 warm water
1/2 c. sugar
1t. salt
2 lg. eggs
1/2 shortening
4 c flour
butter or margaring. softened
In a large mixing bowl. diddolve the yeast in the warm water. Stir in the sugar, salt, eggs and shortening and half the flour into the yeast mixture.
Add the remaining flour until smoooth. Put the dough in a ball.Cover with a damp cloth and let rise until doulbled.
Divide the dough into two balls. Roll out 1/4 thick. Cut into wedges, spread with butter, roll up and let rise one hour. Bake 400 degrees for 12 -15 min.

I am thinking, though (from watching the bakers where I worked in college) that if you don't do that "lamination" process with them.... rolling... folding....rolling....etc
that they won't take on that "flakiness" that is so decadent.
Carolyn, could you post your recipe too??
(I know its a ton of work... just hoping yours might be marginally easier than mine... hoping [img][/img] )
Maybe for special occasions the work is worth it. Maybe. Maybe I'll make orange sticky buns instead. [img][/img]
