Could food allergies be an evolutionary response?

To possibly cancers? Stay with me here for a moment. Food allergies seem to be increasing. And, some of the treatments that curb the response of the IgE reaction are possibly linked with an increased cancer risk (both the cream and the injection). But what if it was not the meds that were the causation. What if it was the increased immunologic response which was the protective factor against the cancers? So, people with allergies are better protected and can live longer and reproduce offspring that have this protection.
