Contact Lenses during a Reaction

Wondering if anyone has had a reaction to any food while wearing contact lenses. What happens if your eyes are so swollen that you cannot get your contacts out?

Good question. My eyes have never swollen during a food reaction... my lips have doubled in size, my throat has swollen, but never my eyes. I know that some folks' eyes *do* swell, though. I wear contacts, too.
Now... when my airborne allergens (pollens, dust, molds) are really bad, my eyes *do* swell... i just don't put my contacts in at all during those days...

my only anaphylactic reaction (and yes I come to this board for my son, not for me...) my eyes were so swollen they were almost shut. However it lasted for less than 3 hours, so I don't think contacts would have been a problem. Mind you, I'm allergic to contacts to start with (to the solution used, and I tried many)...
After the 3 hours, while my face was still swollen, my eyes were in a shape where I could have gotten contacts out.
