Colony Beach and Tennis Resort

Hi- just wondering if anyone has stayed here (in Long Boat Key FL) It sounds very kid friendly- tennis and all day children's activities. Any info would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hi! We're leaving this spring for our second Colony trip w/PA daughter. I notified the staff in advance and when making reservatiosn and had no problems...and the property is magnificent! Happy trails!
ps - We haven't done the kids' programs, and never inquired as to their safety

Hi BuffaloBeth, yes, I agree it's a great place. My parents had a condo right next door to the Colony when I was growing up. I miss LongBoat and thought my dd would love the Colony. Could you maybe get a feel from them in regard to the children's activites? I am going to call, but it's always best to do it face to face. If you get a chance that is. Hi Kelly! The reason we go there is because my inlaws have a place just down the beach! How funny!
Personally, I feel my kids aren't ready for the program there, so we just hang out on the beach; consequently I haven't pursued the safety of their program. I know that isn't helpful to you, but the staff really were helpful/knowledgable about PA.

This is "my stomping ground" and I will be happy to help with anything that you may need. We have been going to the Colony for over 20 years and live very close so this is where we go to the beach almost every weekend. I have not taken my kids to eat in the restaurants or deli but I do know they are totally kid friendly. The deli carries Boars Head meats and although I don't buy any meat that is cut at the deli I am sure you could work something out with them so it would be safe for your kids. I will also be more than happy to drop off any items to make your trip helpful. We just got back from a super trip to Key Biscayne Florida (off Miami)at the Sonesta Beach Resort - they were so absolutely wonderful with my kids allergies but I did bring down half of my kitchen just in case so I know that you will probably be needing some items just for your room.
Anyone let me know...

Hi Danielle, and thank you so much for your kind offer, but I think we're all set. We travel a few times per year to that area, and have "laid in supplies." FYI The Monkey Room (on site restaurant) is fantastic about food allergies...just let them know when you are seated. We're off to the sun on Saturday; can't wait!
