The Chuck E. Cheese corporate website has a site to get nutritional information on all their food. Under the "FAQs" at the bottom, it says that they use NO nut/peanut products in their food, and that the only thing in the restaurant with nuts is the novelty ice cream bar sold via vending machine. I talked to the manager at my local CEC in Austin, and they emptied out the ice cream vending machine and unplugged it. Here is the site:

Thanks Tracey. We eat at Chuck E. Cheese on occasion and have never had a problem.

My son, the social butterfly, has been invited to yet another birthday party - this one at Chuck E. Cheese's in Burlington, Mass. I sent the corporate office and e-mail and here is the response I got (I should point out, a very prompt response, too):
We do not carry any foods that contain peanut products.
Thank you for choosing Chuck E. Cheese's and have a GREAT day!

I think I am going to let my son eat their pizza.

Heather2,
My dd is PA and she has eaten their pizza with no problems. We were just there a few months ago and if I remember correctly, the ice cream machine was not operable. All the ice creams were out of it and it was turned off. That was the first thing I looked for when we walked in.
Personally, I like the CEC in Natick, Mass much better. It seems to be cleaner and hardly any games were broken. It seems like Burlington's games are always broken.
Hope your son has a great time!

My son (PA) has eaten the pizza on many occasions with no problems. We have booked his birthday party (March) for there. I inquired about the cake and they said that it is made by Dawn foods but that they do not carry any foods containing nuts or peanuts. I may end up bringing my own cake anyway but it sounds like it's probably O.K.

We love Chuck E. Cheese. We just went there today for the 3rd time. It is the only place that we feel safe with the food for ds. Everywhere else we go we bring his. He finally went in the big ball pit!! My dd wouldn't even go in the baby ball pit. My kids are such scaredy cats!

A few years ago we stopped bringing my son to Chuck E cheezes b/c they used Walnut Flour in their pizza...perhaps they've changed. That's a breeding ground for so much bacteria, I would never go back!! Yuck!!!!

For those w/ soy allergy, you might want to ask to read the ingredients on their bag of crust mix. Their corporate headquarters e-mailed me a complete ingredient listing which looked safe for my son. However, when I took him and he had some pizza, he had a reaction to the pizza, facial swelling, and what I am guessing is swelling in the mouth as his speech sounded different, itchy mouth, hive, etc.
I was dumbfounded and had them pull out the bag of crust mix and the last ingredient was soy protein concentrate. I was very dissapointed this wasn't listed on their ingredient listing that was mailed to me. So, it's always good to check as ingredients can change.
