I finally got a call back after emailing 3 wks ago...a customer svc rep who was, to put it nicely, less than informed. She told me this is not an ingredient change, that it is a labelling change, that it had always been like this. I told her that we would no longer be able to eat at PH; I also emailed FAAN about the situation but haven't heard back.

BTW, she said it was a cross contamination issue but never mentioned anything about barrels.

I also called FAAN. They gave me the number for Pizza Hut!

I also just emailed with my alloted number of characters to say that we would choose another pizza company and next time there is a drastic change they should make people aware in a better manner.

Jenna-That is what I received, as well. No phone call to enlighten me as to the source of the peanut in their pizza---a pamphlet. Mine only contained nutritional info (calories, fat, etc.)--no ingredients. I've given up on them. We will no longer be Pizza Hut customers. The lack of information, lack of phone calls, etc. is unacceptable.
Even if they now say there is no peanut in the pizza, I have no desire to give them my $$$.
FAAN doesn't seem too concerned or feel a need to actively research it either...from what I can tell.

I did receive a call from someone at Pizza Hut after I used the comment box and checked that they could contact me.
The woman I talked with knew nothing about what prompted the change. I explained why we would no longer be customers and she said something like, "Then why did you want us to call you?"
That was not the customer service I was looking for. My daugher was going crazy in the background, she's two, or I would have asked to speak with a manager.

I wrote this earlier under the Restaurant Thread:
Just spoke with Pizza Hut Corporate. There is no peanut or egg in the sauce. The possiblity is in the people that manufacter their sauces for them. They just went through all their suppliers to find out if there were allergins at their plant. I think she said one does make a sauce with peanuts in it. They do an allegin wash on the equipment and the non allergins are run early. So I guess if you are comfortable with ice cream then you would probably be ok with the allergin wash. She said she didn't know if it was the same facility or the same containers, but I have a call in the the sauce manager for her to explain the allergins in more detail. She said it is a small chance there would even be an allergin in the sauce b/c they do the wash and it is only one of the suppliers and they have different suppliers making the same sauce.

I sent a letter along with the pamphlet they sent me (with the nutritional information) back to corporate headquarters to inform them that this is what their people are sending out. There is nothing in there about allergens. I haven't heard back from corporate yet but will post when I do.
I, too, am disappointed with FAAN. They didn't really seem to care. They gave me the number for pizza hut and suggested that I talk to them about this. I kind of thought that was one of the reasons for FAAN - to help us with this kind of stuff.
