I followed Starlight's lead and e-mailed my local TV stations' "tiplines". One station prides itself on covering as many stories as possible in a newscast, so I'm thinking they're the most likely to cover a little story like this. After seeing the Aquafresh coverage out East, I think somebody somewhere might get into this one, especially on the angle that it's a silent, unpublicized change, that even the restaurant employees are unaware.

I just sent them an email. What kind of tomato sauce mixes with peanuts at the factory? They have lost us as customers and I will look up some tip lines as this is crazy to just change out with no notication (like from FAAN or something) as this is a whole US deal.

We have stayed away from marinara sauce for years because I read that it is more likely to come into contact with peanuts. Doesn't seem logical, but nuts coming into contact with sauce doesn't sound that far out.
Maybe it's really pine nuts and they are cross posting?

I have heard of marinara being something to watch for due to contamination with nuts but I am also thinking like Mccobbre that it would usually be pine nuts.
We have used Pizza Hut so often for a great many years w/ no problem so I am also really wondering what exactly has changed. I was given the all clear in the past.
I will not be using them until I have definite info on ingredients and x-cont. I hope they are able to clarify soon! But also I am very put off by the responses and am wondering if I will ever be able to trust them again regardless of what they say.

Thank goodness for this site! I had a check in my purse to hand in to my sons' school this morning for "Pizza Friday" lunches from Pizza Hut. Every other day they take their lunches & this was the one special thing they were able to be included in but not anymore! I feel so bad because they love it. I'm supposed to go in & help hand out slices tomorrow but I think I'll have to pick up slices from a trustworthy local pizzaria and take them some safe lunch. This is so ridiculous & annoying.

This is beyond disappointing. We were planning to eat there this weekend with DS's Book-it coupon. I suppose we could always order his without sauce. But how fun is that?

I have filled out the contact e-mail for Pizza Hut and called as well- I'd encourage everyone else who shares this disappointment to do so as well- lets try to effect a change before this becomes permanent- a "take back the restaurant" campaign... Thank you for posting this. We order pizza hut alot, I have 2 kids also milk allergic(and 1 p-n/a), so we order 1 pizza with no cheese....but kind of pointless now. I should have checked before, milk is listed in the crust....I have started checking alot of the places we order out at...no more Mcdonalds either(due to milk in the chx nuggest)....I feel terrible for not doing this before now...thank you for posting this! I will also emailt hem about the peanut contamination in the sauce...seems silly all of a sudden they changed it(with no notice). Shame on them!

I can't believe it is a real thing and not CYA so which is better Dominos or Papa Johns? That is now where we will be purchasing pizza from. Thanks for the update!

Sorry josh's mom. I know this is very disappointing, but I have to say, I'm not surprise--just glad they're conscientious in their labeling.
We eat both Dominoes and Papa Johns just fine. I honestly don't have a preference. PJ is less expensive I believe.
