Hopefully when or if the nutritionist calls me back this week and I will let you know what they say. I just can't imagine that it has changed manufacturing. I know it has said shellfish (don't get that one either), but what has changed that it has peanut now! I will call until I get the exact answer to find out if it is safe or unsafe for my child. We will probably still order it for ourselves.

Has anyone heard anything from Pizza Hut? I called and talked to a rep today who said that the sauce is not safe and there have been no recent changes to ingredients- this is how it's been. That totally contradicts what I've been told in the past. The nutritionist is supposed to call me back within the next 3 days to clarify. I will be so disappointed if we can't eat Pizza Hut pizza. It is the one place that we've gone to many times because we were told it is safe. Anyone know a good alternative?

The sauce? No changes? I'd understand if the new labeling was to reflect the dessert pizzas, but the sauce? ???

I just wrote to a few newspeople in the Chicago area about this. We're obviously getting nowhere with this (seriously, is a nutrionist going to know the answer? probably not). So hopefully if they get a few calls from news reporters, they'll get their acts together and tell us what's really going on.
As I told them in my letter, there are hundreds of PA people who *don't* come to this board and don't think to check the websites of the places to check for changes. Either every PA person is in danger or they are not, and I told them all we want is a straight answer.

NO changes to the sauce but now it's not safe? That's baloney. Either they were not sharing a risk that existed previously...which means I am going to write off Pepsi as being allergy aware and trustworthy entirely, or they changed something that runs on that line. I checked their website just a few months ago at most and the change was made about 1 month ago. There was no previou warning for peanuts unless I am losing my mind. I would never have allowed my children to eat there for the past 2 years!
Besides my dh just stopped in to talk to our store manager yesterday and she swore she was not aware of this and tells people all the time the pizza is safe for PA people! I don't know all the details of the conversation but she went and got the sauce or the allergy warnings and said she could not tell there had been a change to anything. She was concerned. Maybe the change to the sauce is imminent and the 'new' unssafe sauce has not been distributed to most locations yet?

Ugh. Next time I write someone I'll have to leave out my zip code so they don't mistake my concern with their entire company for my concern with my local store. And seriously, how is the manager at a local store going to know why Pizza Hut put the peanut statement on the website if the people at corporate headquarters don't seem to know?

I just talked to a customer service rep for Pizza Hut. She said that it is a change. The sauce may now come into contact with peanuts in the factory. Basically, she said it's a new risk that hasn't been there before.
So I'm thinking I'll be writing a letter to mail to their headquarters. I am so disappointed! Yes, I like to be informed if there is a risk. But I'd really like them to change their manufacturing procedures. They probably think it's no big deal to lose PA people's business. So we'd better speak up.
