pWow! I am so sorry to hear that the Brach's line of Candy Corn is not a "sweet source" for my son! He just had them two weeks ago and enjoyed the heck out of them. I am so relieved that he didn't have a reaction. Thank you for posting the information. /p
pWe have noticed the Farley candies have the "may contain... labels" ... wonder why Brach's hasn't begun labeling their product. Thanks, again for posting the information./p

pI sent the Farley's Candy Corn label into my school nurse and she uses it for the teacher training. They have a list of May Contains for every known nut (it seems) e.g. peanuts, cashews, walnuts, etc./p
pTo my surprise, sending in this wrapper definately had the biggest impact on the teachers. I have purchased the FAN school program, booklets, cards, trainers, videos, etc. for the school but when I speak to the teachers they always say "I can't believe that Candy Corn could contain nuts". It definately supports the "You have to look into EVERY product" that I'm always chanting!/p

pHi dmh,/p
pI don't know where I read it, but someone suggested to use broken pretzel sticks in place of the Chinese noodles. Hope this helps!/p

Last year I found great safe Candy Corn from a company called Blueberry Hill. I haven't been able to find it this year, however, and just emailed them a little while ago to find out where I can get it. Their phone # is (800) 451-8664, and email is finedbyp@aol.com .

Great reminder! Farley's Candy Corn *definitely* lists peanuts in the ingredients.

Maybe we can all write to/call vermont nut free and get them to take on making or supplying a safe candy corn in addition to all their chocolates! I just love it and it would be so great to find a safe one easily available. I wonder if it means a totally new process for them? becca

Just flipping through the Stop and Shop circular for next week(in Eastern Massachusetts). I saw the Blueberry hill candy corn on saler for next week! They also have Brachs on sale, but advertised this one as well. Just thought I would share. I plan to grab some(if my dinky S&S has any at all) and call. It would be fun to have safe candy corn. Dh and I love it and usually get a bag and eat it on the sly, LOL! becca

Thanks for the heads up Becca - we are due to get a Stop & Shop here in a few months, but now I'm going to go on their website and find out where the closest one is.

Well, I found the stuff today, a miracle in itself since my S&S is often poorly stocked on odd items and whatever sale items I am looking for, LOL. DUH! They have egg whites and my dd happens to have an egg allergy as well. I was so bummed. They were also the ones with brown instead of yellow, and they had pumpkins. Hope the rest of you are able to indulge! becca

I also found the Blueberry Hill products. They were in my local Foodtown (NJ Shore area). Dylan was thrilled because I had just reminded him last week, no candy corn, pumpkins, etc. Now I'll be able to give them to the class Mom for his Halloween Party. Thanks for the info on this product!
