Hi everyone:

I need your help. My family found out that my husband's company is being bought out and my husband is now looking for a new job. My question is this; Any city and/or elementary school recommendations? Preferrably in the Midwest (that where are family is). We are currently in Indiana, but are looking in Illinois, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

I do not want to have to move and educate a school about a pa allergy. It took three excruciating years with this school and we are finally somewhat comfortable. We would like to come to a school that all ready has several kids with a peanut allergy. Anyone recommend their city and school. I really appreciate your help. We are scared. Both my kids have a severe peanut allergy. My daughter is in third grade and my son is in first grade. My daughter has had several anaphyllactic reactions and understandably nervous about moving. She knows I am putting this thread out here and is anxiously waiting replies with me.

Thanks again!

We're trying to move to the USA though in the next year...maybe I'll be asking your same question then.

I live in a suburb of Columbus, OH. My son is only two but I have been told that the Columbus public schools have a "no peanuts" policy district wide. I just e-mailed the district office and will post their reply here when I receive it. On a side note, I have been able to find a ton of safe alternative foods here and we do have several health food stores that are excellent.

You might check out the support group thread. Most of the thread is set up by state and it looks like there are a couple active groups in the mid-west. Maybe they can help you find schools. Good luck!

I'm from the tippy-top of West Virginia - sandwiched between PA and OH, minutes from Pittsburgh, PA. I can't say enough wonderful things about our school - not only about PA but academics also!!
Good luck in your search!
