My daughter's 2nd birthday is coming up and I would like to make cupcakes for her party. Which cake mixes and icing are safe for PA? I would love to be able to just to the grocery store and buy the mix, but I am willing to order online, as well. And I don't need to bake them myself, of there are some ready made available.
Thanks!
I use the "funfetti" cake mix and frosting by Pillsbury. I have never called, but there is no warning on the label. My kids love the sprinkles inside the cake and on top of the icing.
we use betty crocker or pillsbury frosting and betty crocker or cherry brook cake mix.
We use Duncan Hines all of the time and have never had any problems. I love their yellow cake.
Did you know you can make a really moist pound cake from any cake mix? You mix it with 4 eggs, 1 cup of water and 1/3 cup of oil. You can bake it in a bundt pan, loaf pans, or as cupcakes or a traditional cake -- it turns out deeeeeeeeelish!

A former member's son had an anaphylactic reaction after eating Duncan Hines cake.
I usually stick with Betty Crocker. Just used it again for my daughter's birthday cake yesterday and no problems. I stay away from Duncan Hines as I've read bad things about them on here. As far as icing, I make my own buttercream icing not only because its safe but also because I find it much easier to work with and it holds up better. Its easy to make, just do a search for different recipes.
