I thought I would share where we ate safely while we were in California this past week.
Please double check for yourself if you decide to go to any of these places as they may have changed since we visited.

Bob's Big Boy (LA) (burgers, fries, etc)
University of Redlands Cafeteria (variety)
TGIFridays (Redlands)
El Torito (Santa Monica) (mexican, DD got a quesadilla)
Big Daddy's (Venice Beach) great churros fries and pizza, among other choices.
A&W Restaurant (Redlands) great root beer!
Baja Fresh (Redlands) DD didn't eat here, but we did and checked for her and it was safe.
Wendy's (Redlands)

Two places we checked out were Macaroni Grill and Marie Callendars. I don't recommend these places as they could not guarantee what they used in the kitchen. Macaroni Grill actually told me to not order the fries and chicken, something that she would've want to eat, so we left.
