Burger King now a PA risk

I was wondering if any of you have been to Burger King since they started serving the Butterfinger Pie. Is the pie already wrapped and pre-packaged? Yet another restaurant falls off of the "OK" list for us. If you haven't heard about the pie, here is the link from FAAN, http://www.foodallergy.org/ingredients.html

Best wishes,
Lisa, Mommy of Renee (5, severe PA)

Thanks for sharing this. We don't eat at BK too much, just because the kids prefer McDonalds. However I just want to point out that our local BK also has a reeces pie. So I guess that has made me uncomfortable. Especially because they have a play place. And I am sure that kids are not washing their hands before climbing through that!!

All of their pie slices come in sealed cartons.
We're still comfortable eating there. We just wipe down the tables well before we let the kids sit down.

ARGH! I hate when they do this. Even though it's in a sealed carton I always worry if someone who works there ate one and then didn't wash their hands before going back to work (I know they're supposed to but who knows if they would for something like this). We're going on a driving trip across the country and will be relying on BK (we're only going to eat at BK and taco bell for the entire trip for the most part) to be safe, especially since we'll be driving in some remote areas right after eating. I hope none of the ones we go to has these yet. I haven't seen them at our local BK.

FYI. while I was tooling around on BK's website last night, I found a page that says the garlic croutons are also unsafe for PA/TNA. My dd doesn't eat much fast food salad so I don't think it'll be a problem now, but she may want to in the future. I don't know if the croutons are packaged separately or not.

They aren't in Mass. yet...neither are the Reeses pies. Maybe we'll get lucky and they won't hit my area. The promotion is only until Sept. of 2007, I think.
