We have eaten at On The Border Mexican retaurant. I called ahead and spoke with the general manager who was VERY helpful checking ingredients for different foods for me. The only thing he came up with was to stay away from the desserts because of nuts in them. When we arrived, I asked questions again of the manager at the time and she told me that do not use peanuts/peanut butter. If I recall, my son ended up having a hot dog
We go to Chili's often and have never had a problem. I emailed them about 8 months ago and they replied saying they don't use peanut oil. Whenever I go, I always speak to the manager just to make sure that nothing has changed regarding peanuts or oils used.

We have eaten at Macaroni Grill. They use only olive oil. Not sure if all dishes are peanut-free, but we feel comfortable eating there. And 3-yr-old Tucker LOVED watching them cook out in the open!
Of course, I will continue to ask EVERY TIME we go about the oil. We do live in the south and it seems many people down here can't imagine frying in anything other than peanut oil. Wouldn't want to hit the day when they substituted the oil...
There are 2 other threads under this forum regarding Brinker and Mac Grill, etc. If you conduct a search under Macaroni Grill in the Restaurant forum, you will be able to easily locate them -- lots of good info there.
FYI, we've eaten at various On The Border locations (always asking questions to the chef or owner/manager first, of course) and have never encountered a problem w/ their food (our daughter is PA).

Fran, I originally did a search but did not find anything...
Thought I would post this as a new, current topic with all of their restaurants grouped together.
We do not have most of their restaurants in out area; just Chilli's and Maccaroni grill. Have not visited either one with our PA/TNA 4 yr old.
Thank you to all who have shared their experiences!
Big Bowl is not peanut free. But being an oriental, stir fry resturant probably most of us would skip it automatically.
I was told that Brinker International places are not nut free, however, it is a corporate policy not to fry in peanut oil. I think the lady's name is Karen Doty. I think if you do a search on the boards you can find some more info on the subject.
We take our PA son to Macaroni Grill frequently and have only wonderful things to say about them! The wait staff and chefs have always been incredibly understanding and attentive to our son's allergy, and we feel very comfortable taking him there. Of course, we do avoid the deserts!
Best wishes!

Just curious, what does Andre order when at Mac. Grill? I would love to take my son there and would feel good knowing what dishes other pa kids have had.
TIA,

We eat at Macaroni Grill often. My son orders the cheese pizza from the kids menu and also enjoys the bread they bring to the table. We do check each time, but it has always been fine.
