if i recall, the last time we attempted a bob evans, they had several peanut and peanut butter desserts including a reeses pb pie and something else that sounded messy and problematic. (we had the girls with us that time so we left and found a place with fewer desserts in general and no peanut-y desserts).
also, places that serve pancakes always concern me a little because there are always a few people who order peanut butter rather than syrup for them. (bob evans, perkins, ihop, etc....).
we do occasionally eat in breakfast-y places like these but it always concerns me.
i have not heard that bob evans uses peanut oil. that's news to me. when i asked it was just the pb desserts that were a big concern. dh and i ate there alone on one occasion because i wasn't really comfortable taking the kids there.
sometimes i'll let the girls eat somewhere similar (we go to ihop every now and then for a late sunday breakfast) but i usually alert the waitress and manager just so they'll be aware and keep an eye on the preparation of our food. then, of course, you just have to trust that they actually ARE keeping an eye on it. i hate the feeling of being at the mercy of people who are already very, very busy. i just hope each time that the wait staff we get and the cook(s) we get care enough to give us some extra attention. so far...so good...but i still hate it.
of course meds are always with us, no matter where we are or what we're eating.

I was told that they do not use peanut oil. I think that my daughters reaction was to a cross contamination issue. I think the server either had touched a dessert with nuts of the bread bowl had not gotten washed well or nut bread had been put in it and taken out....whatever happened it caused a slight reaction. I think we have several other options and will stay away for some time.
