I spoke to a woman at Boars Head meats today and she assured me that all of their products except for the mortadella and liverwurst were safe. She said that even their bacon and breakfast sausage were safe. I will not buy anything that has been opened at the deli but I would like to use a bacon and sausage occasionally. Has anyone used these products with success?

Hi! Just a word of caution about deli meats...if they've sliced mortadella, and then slice your safe deli meat, there's a serious cross-contamination risk. Make sure they clean the slicer before they put on your safe meat.

Why is there a problem with mortadella?
I never have had it.
Thanks

Mortadella contains pistachios.
