Hi evryone,

Just want to know if others with PA have had a problem with Black Bean sauce??

I go into Anaphylaxis if I eat peanuts and other nuts and the other day my brother made Beef in Black Bean sauce using the sauce from a bottle that had no nut warning.

One first bite my mouth felt like I had eaten nuts. That horrible feeling that you get but I din't go into anaphylaxis shock like I do with nuts. Had antihistamines and went to bed feeling queasy but didn't throw up. Felt better the next day.

I'm 28 and never had this reaction before from Black Bean sauce. Must admit haven's rung the company who make it to ask but just wanted to know if others had had this problem before??

Since peanuts and black beans are both legumes and are related you could be allergic to both. Since you are PA, you have a higher likelyhood of having other allergies in the legume family.

I assume you mean the Asian black bean sauce. I'm married to a Chinese guy and our son is PA; we would never give him black bean sauce because so many items coming from Asia are either not labebeled, the labels are incomplete, or they are mislabeled--I'm sure everyone remembers the recent recall of a Chinese company's "Waxgourd Candy" which was 100% redskin peanuts! I just figure it's something he'll have to live without, because without it, he's more likely to live.
