We will be traveling to Arizona and are looking for safe restaurants.

I would love to hear from any of you that live in Arizona or those that have vacationed there.

Thanks!

Hi,
I live in Gilbert AZ (a suburb of Phoenix) and we have just started our education in this area with our 21mth old daughters July diagnosis.
I can tell you that my comfort level is very tight. That being said, the two restaurants that come to mind as being very accomadating to us is the national chain Red Robin and our local Mexican food chain Serranos. I always speak to the Manager on duty upon arrival and we have been able to safely eat at both restaurants. Hope this helps.

Mom2gracie: thanks for your reply! I also have a rather tight comfort level and thought it would be best to do some of this research prior to our trip.
My children have limited menus and we eat alot of pizza. I hope to find safe restaurants when I get there and plan to do some additional searches for restaurants online.
Thanks again!

I am from Arizona. But I haven't had the courage to take my daughter out to eat after we found out that she is highly allergic to walnut. Hopefully someone else could help you.
Good Luck

lhua: thanks, doesn't look like anyone else has info on Arizona...
I am starting to get really nervous about our trip, especially with the airlines...still serving lots of nut containing items.

SF - tell me where about's in Arizona your headed - if it's the Scotsdale, Mesa, Tempe area, I have family there and my little niece there is anaphylactic to sesame and as such her parents are avoiding nuts/peanuts/other seeds as well. I could give them your email if you want (I see that it's shown in your profile) so my SIL can email you suggestions directly. Let me know as they will gladly help out with safe restaurants, etc..
