Hi there,
My shampoo lists arachidic acid and I thought it was similar to the scientific name for peanuts so when I did a search it came up as a componet of peanut oil and it is an essential fatty acid - so my question is if it lists arachidic acid as an ingredient does that mean it uses that essentail fatty acid and does it mean there is peanut in the product??

Thanks,
Andrea

I'm pretty sure that is the same ingredient that is in Chapstic. I called both the maker of Chapstic and fan to ask about this ingredient and whether it contained peanuts and was told by Chapstic they weren't sure and FAAN said it *may* be made from peanuts or from other things. So, we avoid it.

Thank you. Then, please ignore the above. lol
I would not use anything that came from peanut protein, highly processed or not.
