We do not live immediately around family so there is no family that has to be cautious about pn day-to-day. For the holidays and such though we are planning on traveling to see family and I worry that they may not think PA is as big of a deal or really understand the benefits for strict avoidance. DS is 10 months old and into EVERYTHING. I'm not saying I need them to make their house pn/tn free, BUT I want something for them to read ahead of time that maybe makes them more aware of the seriousness.

Sometimes people believe in information more when it comes from a article rather then their own daughter/son telling them the info! LOL! Does anyone know of a really good article that explains the benefits of strict avoidance and seriousness of PA? TIA!

Try this http://www.globaltv.com/globalcurrents
or this http://www.cbc.ca/outfront/webfeatures/sabrina/sab_shell.html
If Sabrina's story doesn't affect them, I don't know what will.
Take care,
Gina

Here's a link to an article on Sabrina The Promise
and to a website that includes her photos and her talking about her allergies in her own voice. Sabrina's Story
Very moving.
Take care,

Hi, I am not trying to scare you, but just want to share my experiences dealing PA with my own family.
They live 3 hours away. My uncle is the one who not only do not believe in PA, but think Global warming is hype. My aunt is more considerate, but still, they do not get it DO NOT GET IT.
Last trip to their house, they cooked dinner and told me everything is safe. My daughter ate it, she was fine. Next day, just being a very protective mom, I checked the wrapper of the tofu dish. RIGHT THERE, it says it's made with peanut oil. Not a fine print either, it tells me that she did not read the label. Oh yeah, did I mentioned that big jar of peanuts sitting on the kitchen counter always?
Thank God my daughter did not react to peanut oil, but no more her cooking for us.
But truly, I hope your family is very understanding and supportive. I do not have an article to share, but want to remind you, keep your eyes on everything, and best of luck!
