Anaphylactic woman reacts to kiss from boyfriend after he ate shellfish

My mother told me about this story. Did anyone else hear about it? He ate the shellfish, I think shrimp. She went into full anaphylaxis after he kissed her. I don't know the outcome; I don't think it's good. Is this something we just never heard about before, or is it just being reported more? How scary is this...

We ended up in the ER after my wife kissed my son goodnight after eating butterfingers on frozen yogurt...he is PA, and it was still on her lips about an hour after she finished the yogurt. The ER Dr. told us it can stay on your lips for up to 6 hrs.
