Your 504 is a legal documnent...what was the reasoning for the violation? Is your school board involved? Your child has legal rights under the 504 and accomodations must be followed. My principal put me through the ringer!!! She threatened me to involve the school board, for back up she needed...I said fine, because we were soooo at a stale mate....and I knew my DD's rights by law! Once they were involved it was smooth sailing. I had to laugh, the principal thought they would back her up, instead, all of a sudden the red carpet was layed out for me. Meeting after meeting after horrible meeting...one meeting with the school board and voila, we were done!!! Of course, the fact that I questioned if my attorney, that my DD's allergist suggest I retain should attend this meeting with the school board...blah, blah....of course they didn't think this was necessary but... All of a sudden, I had all the accomodations I needed to keep DD safe. So, try school board and an attorney!
Thanks for the reply.
I'm trying to really keep things peaceful between all of us. We (the teacher, other staff members, and the parents) need to stick together and work together and honestly, her teacher has been great about all of it.
This was the first issue we had and I want to try to work it out with the school first. I think I'm going to delete what I have posted so far. I just can't leave it up right now.
Thanks for the replies though. I appreciate it. I know you have my dd's best interests at heart and that's what's most important to me. Thank you.
