Long story short... my 1 year old nephew got into a jar of peanut butter and went into a full blown allergic episode. My sister lives in my neighborhood so she rushed over knowing I have epi pens for my children. My epi jr was over a year expired. I still gave him the injection and it did its job until the paramedics arived.

Have you contacted EpiPen about the incident? I would like to hear what they have to say about it.

We had a similar situation with my son when he was 3 yrs. old. I ended up using an expired Epipen because my husband had the other one in his car. My son's life was saved! Now, I always save my expired ones as an emergency backup. After a year past date, I use them to practice on an orange. So glad to hear you kiddo is fine.
