Ok, I am stealing my wife's username for a post. I want to thank you ladies, and you too, Lisa, for your support here. These past two weeks have been unreal. That is the only word I that I can think of for this. I do have a plan, and I would like your opinions on it. If the meeting goes REALLY badly, and it doesn't die down in a week or two, I have a few friends with media connections here in Maine. My thought was to run to the media through a friend and have them write a story about "Intollerance in the a town near Friendship" referring to the neighboring town of Friendship, Maine. I would like to make public some of the ignorant viewpoints that certain members of this community have lodged against my son's right to a public education. We would not reveal our identity, but hopefully, through a city run media, rouse up so much sympathy for our cause that anyone ignorant enough to have such opinions wouldn't dare share them aloud. Forty years ago, parents said, "I won't send my kid to a segregated school", but if anyone said that today, they are pretty much looked at as a caveman.
Again, thanks for the support you have been for my wife. She needs this board right now, and all of you as well. Lisa, thanks for being there for us, even though you don't know us, you are a great neighbor.

Hi, my name is Lisa T, and I came here tonight because when I first read about the ban in the paper, I was beyond mad. I was FURIOUS! How dare the school make a decision like this, which affects the whole student body with out even telling us parents in person, it seemed sneaky and very well timed. And who are these parents who think their child

Lisa, I've been reading the different threads here in the past couple of weeks, and it's been interesting and gratifying to watch your journey. I just left my firstborn (and PA) child for his first day at preschool, and I'm feeling a little vulnerable right now. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the tremendous effort you've made to understand what our lives are like and why we have the concerns that we do. I can only hope that I have folks like you involved with my kids' schools.
