With a new school year just around the corner, I thought I'd share a nice "lite" PA story....
My 5 year old PA son has a pedal (yes pedal, not electric) John Deere toy tractor. The seat fell off. No big deal. Any opportunity a dad can take to interest a son in proper "mechanics" is a joyous occasion. I proceeded to take my son down to the garage to start him on the long journey to manhood. After we used our handy dandy power screw driver to take off a cover we determined that we were missing some 1/4 nuts. I then pulled my old coffee can that contains all the nuts, that I inherited from both my grand fathers and dad, off the shelf and asked my son to help me find a "nut". He immediately started to cry. I said, what's up? He said, I can't help you any more, because I'm allergic to nuts.
It took me at least 5 minutes to regain my composure to give a big fat hug and explained that not all nuts are bad. Only the nuts you eat. The he said, oh... I can play with metal nuts as long as I don't eat them? It took me another few minutes to quit laughing and explain.
Being that this site is frequented mostly by PA kid moms, I thought I'd share a nice "dad" PA story.
Sorry if I rambled too much...
