My DD has made a new good friend at school this year. In the last two months they have become even better friends.

They live close by and I sent a note to the parents introducing us and inviting this girl to our home to play. I spoke with the Mom on the phone, we had a great chat and both acknowledged that our daughters had become good friends.

Then her mom said, "I don't think your DD can ever come to our home to play though because we have birds for pets and their favorite food is peanuts!".

Life is just too funny sometimes!!! And yes, her daughter is coming over next week to play with DD.

Great that she mentioned that the birds like peanuts, though. Isn't it great when someone we just met gets it?

Yes, but only my DD would become friends with a girl who lives in a "peanut" house!
Thats what I think is so funny!

My son was in the same situation a few years ago -- the friend's mom told me she couldn't have my son to their house because it is DRIPPING in peanut butter.
