I got the nickname Peanut. While in school, but not because I am small as you might have guessed from being on this site. I am allergic to peanuts have been since I was very young probably sometime before 5 years olds. I like to eat at Chik Fila even though they use refined peanut oil. I usually only get a tingle due to swelling of my lips and throat but not enough to cause problems. I can eat some candies that contain trace amounts of peanuts with very little side effects. Everyones allergic response to peanuts is different and lab testing has trouble detecting severity. And am hoping to unpeanutphobia the PA people that don't need to be. While trying to understand those who have extreme needs in the most extreme cases. I am hoping to encourage the scientific community to better their testing as well.
