My son is only 2 1/2 and our dr said he would not do a food for PA bc the risk of anaphylaxis is too high. I think it's a combination of how big the hive is on the skin test and past exposure to the food. I know our dr would not do a food challenge with my son a this age. He said closer to age 4. I'm waiting to have a food challenge done with my son for fish. For now we'll just do another skin test and compare the results to the past tests. Good luck.
My doc likes less than or
My doc likes less than or equal to .35 on a RAST before talking food challenge, given son's history of reaction. Once we get the low RAST, I personally like to follow it up with a skin test, since none of these tests are 100% accurate. But hey, that's just me :) and I'm not a doc.
