Depends on how bad your peanut allergy is.
If you only get a rash or mild reaction. No big deal.
If you will die... I wouldn't take the chance!

I wouldn't trust it for my daughter. Who knows how well they "clean" their equipment. Not worth the chance for me.
We don't eat almond butter
We don't eat almond butter but I was online looking at blue diamond brand almonds. Their website says they are made in a peanut free facility. I noticed they also make almond butter.
I posted a question to find out if anyone has experience with their products.
My son eats Blue Diamond
My son eats Blue Diamond almond butter. It's the only brand I buy. And he has a severe allergy.
No, if a company also makes
No, if a company also makes any peanut product (peanut butter) there are potential cross-contamination issues and that product should be avoided. There is only one almond butter company that ONLY makes almond butter and that is Barney Butter. It is delicious and smooth and creamy just like peanut butter but made from almonds in an almond only facility. My son has a severe peanut allergy and this is the only nut butter I give to him and he absolutely loves it!! You can find a retailer at barneybutter.com or buy it on Amazon.

Blue Diamond is made in a peanut free facility. You can get that at the grocery store. :-)
Gus Mommy is right. You know
Gus Mommy is right. You know as hard as it may be to believe, you don't really have to go to such extremes just to eat...Really. You just need to have the right information. Blue Diamond is the company that I buy almonds and almond butter from beause they don't process peanuts in their facility. =) Try it!
Stay away from eating
Stay away from eating products that are manufactured on equipment that also processes peanuts. Cross-contamination can kill you. Emily Vonder Meulen at age 13 died from cross-contamination from peanut butter cookies that were made at the sandwich shop. Andrew Smith died at age 8 from peanut oil that he touched on a TV remote control. It can only take a slight amount of peanuts or oil to trigger an anaphylactic shock. My son died at age 18 on July 1, 2008 from a mousse dessert in Cabos Mexico which showed no sign of peanuts but after talking to the chef there was peanuts in it. He had never gotten anaphylactic shock in his 18 years of life. He always got hives and an itchy throat which Benadry cured. You can Google my son's story Brian J. Hom II and peanut allergies to hear my son's story. I still have a 14 year old son who has a severe reaction to peanuts. He broke out in hives in Mexico and antihistimes cured his allergic reaction. My point is that do not get comfortable with the idea that hives will give you early warning to a food allergy reaction. When my 18 year son died he did not get any hives. His blood pressue dropped, lips turned blue, and his throat closed shut and could not breath and died within minutes. Don't take a chance, my 14 year old son reads all labels and his extra careful of what he eats and carries an Epi pen with him at all times.
Years ago, my doctor told me
Years ago, my doctor told me that when tree nuts and peanuts are harvested, they can be transported on the same trucks, on different runs, to the manufacturing plant. He warned me of possible cross-contamination because of this. You might want to check with your almond manufacturer that this is not the case with their product.

Depending on severity of the
Depending on severity of the peanut allergy, it might not be worth the risk. I won't buy Maranatha Almond Butter because of the very reason they also make peanut butter. I just found Blue Diamond almond butter and another brand in my local Whole Foods. Blue Diamond only processes almonds, so they are safe.
Is almond butter taste
Is almond butter taste similar to peanut butter? Is it the same consistency? We've never tried it and I was just wondering.
I got the Blue Diamond
I got the Blue Diamond Homestyle Honey Almond Butter. I figured if it had honey it would be easier to try. It's pretty good. This morning I even mixed some with Nutella and it tasted like I remember Reese's tasting so now it's my new favorite high protein food. As to similar taste. Not really because almonds don't taste like peanuts. Have you had an Almond Joy? Consistency is available in crunchy, smooth and homestyle which is a cross between crunchy and smooth. It meets the approval of one of the pickiest eaters with multiple food allergies! I would definitely recommend it.
Oh, great idea...I have alomd
Oh, great idea...I have alomd butter and nutella in my cupboard right now, too! Definately will try! Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome! You have to
You're welcome! You have to mix it up really good on a plate or in a bowl but two heaping spoonfuls of each mixed together. Blend it so you don't the almond butter (or very much). It might look gross, but it tastes great!
Ok, will do! Thanks again;

No problem. Let me know what
No problem. Let me know what you think of it. Some people might find it kind of gross. But I love it. I just mixed the two together on some Udi's gluten free bread the other day and ate that. Was delicious and my first "pb" sandwich since having to go gluten free.
I don't know, but the company
I don't know, but the company that I buy almond butter from doesn't use it on the same equiptment as any peanut products.. It's Blue Diamond Almond Butter.
