I attended the FAAN
I attended the FAAN conference in Tarrytown last year. I thought it was worth every penny. I did leave early, after doctors and scientists finished with their portion. I did not find the emotional touchy-feely parts as useful. The portions of the program addressing current research were FANTASTIC.
I think it depends in part on what you hope to get out of the experience. I am hoping to go again this year, specifically to hear new research info.
Best wishes,
Jennifer B

I have had PA for 62 years
I have had PA for 62 years and because of recent serious changes in my reactions, I am on the hunt to find out more information about PA. Do you know if there is a calendar that can tell me where there conferences are going to be held? Going to one may be beneficial to me. Thanks
Sure! Visit FAAN's website at
Sure! Visit FAAN's website at www.foodallergy.org. Also, here is a link to the page regarding the 4 conference locations/dates for 2010: http://www.foodallergy.org/page/food-allergy-conferences
Please note FAAN focuses on all of the big 8 allergens as defined by FDA, not just peanut. Last year, the doctors/researchers did discuss various peanut allergy research projects and it was very informative.
I would also recommend reading some of the top peanut allergy books such as those authored by Dr. Sicherer and Dr. Young.
Best wishes,
Jennifer B
Thank you Jennifer, I am
Thank you Jennifer, I am going to go to the library to see if they have a copy of books by the authors you suggested.

Thank you for the input.
Thank you for the input. Tarrytown is the one we're considering going to...it's just far enough away from home to make me nervous about leaving the boys. Once I saw how close Tarrytown was to the Bronx I got nervous about how the driving will be too (I lived outside NYC for a year, so I KNOW I drive like a country girl:)). I'm sure we'll go- it's so close to home, really, how could we not.
