FARE walk set for August
The Annual FARE Walk aims to raise awareness and funds for food allergies via the Food Allergy Research and Education non-profit.
This family-friendly event is open to anyone interested in participating. It's happening in roughly 66 communities nationally with several of those having smaller walks associated with a larger, central event.
Presented by Mylan, for example, a walk in the Knoxville, Tennessee, area coincides with 66 other walks happening throughout the country.
The Food Allergy Community of East Tennessee (FACET) will co-host a fundraising walk with Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE). The FARE Walk for Food Allergies will take place in Nashville on Aug. 9 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Other communities will hold similar events in about the same time frame, most on Aug. 9. The 2013 FARE Walk raised over $30 million, and the group expects this year to be even better.
